School Photographers of America (SPOA) announced its 2023 Annual International Conference on School Photography & Yearbooks will be held in Greenville, South Carolina, July 10-14, 2023.
The conference will be hosted at the Hyatt Regency Greenville in Greenville’s beautiful downtown. Because of the expected size of the conference, two hotels will be hosting the event with the Hyatt Regency serving as the main base, according to association officials.
The conference will start with multiple early bird training opportunities including the annual Mastering Volume Photography (MVP) event, led by ImageQuix/PhotoLynx. In addition, professional training companies like Sandler Training and Dale Carnegie will host multiple training sessions onsite.
Many SPOA board members, partners and membership will be volunteering on "Operation School Smiles" to renovate some school campuses in Greenville County Schools as a service project on behalf of the entire industry.
The entire week will build up to Thursday, July 13, when SPOA hosts the National School Photographic and Industry Awards Ceremony and Dinner. This elegant event celebrates the best of the best in the school photography and yearbook industries. SPOA's strategic partnerships - which lead industry projects for the benefit of all - will also be in attendance and honored: Foundation partner ImageQuix/PhotoLynx, student photography and video partner Sony, and industry report partner, Fotomerchant.
"I could not be more excited to have the conference held in such an amazing town and atmosphere,” says David Crandall, executive director, SPOA, who has extensive local ties to the area. “There are not many cities in the country like Greenville, SC, and our attendees and members are in for a real treat when they see it. Greenville sits at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the upstate of South Carolina. Its views and outstanding development downtown will be something folks talk about for years to come.”
